This weekend saw my papery leaf decorations come to life, at Crafty Fox Market in the wonderful setting of Kachette in Shoreditch. The beautiful, spacious, brick arches lit with spotlights were an ideal place for a craft market, showing off the best independent designer/maker talent and I had SO much fun decorating the venue with my splashes of flowery colour!
I am happy to say that the install all went without a hitch - mostly due to my very patient gang of helpers! The building is quite large but we were able to use the hanging rails on the ceiling to add interest and colour to the arches without interfering with the trader's spaces. The link between to two arches was also perfect as a place to hang the origami and string decorations I made, which were blowing steadily in the breeze all weekend.
I was also lucky enough to have a stall on the Saturday, where I had the opportunity to meet some really friendly customers - it was great to hear some feedback on my installation too - and some people expressed a wish to buy some of the decorations after the event which was great to hear! (If this is you then please do get in touch via email - firstname.lastname@example.org)
The next Crafty Fox Autumn markets are running at the Dogstar in Brixton next weekend and at the CLF Art Cafe in Peckham on the 10th and 11th of October. Make sure you check them out, they're sure to be fantastic events!
All that is left to say is THANK YOU to the Crafty Fox market team for running such a fantastic event and giving me such an awesome opportunity! I had so much fun on this project and am full of ideas for more in the future - I cant wait to get started!
